  • Good credit
  • Cleanliness
  • Timeliness
  • lack of pets, children, or the fact that you don't cause problems (if applicable)
  • Employment
  • Don't not accept the first offer!
  • Don't feel intimidated by a landlord. The landlord is not in the position of power, you both are. He/she wants a tenant, and you want to rent. It's an equal exchange. If one is mean, or disrespectful, just leave. You dont have tolerate mean spirited people.
  • Ask tenants how they feel about the landlord. You don't want to have to deal with a neglectful landlord if you don't have to.
